Chris Dodd announced his intention to retire, instead of seeking re-election in November. Connecticut AG Richard Blumenthal has announced his intention of seeking the Democratic nomination for the Senate seat. Earlier in 2009, Glenn Beck interviewed Blumenthal on the subject of the AIG bonuses. The interview does not go well for Blumenthal.
